Therapy That Comes to You—Support for Older Adults at Home
In-home psychotherapy for older adults in southern Morris County and northern Somerset County, NJ, providing individualized, person-centered care that supports independence and quality of life.
About & Approach
I am Courtney Fairbanks, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Case Manager (CCM), and owner of Fairbanks Psychotherapy, LLC. I have over 20 years of experience in psychotherapy and care coordination. I earned my Master of Social Work from Columbia University and completed my undergraduate studies at Haverford College. My background includes work in home-based treatment, outpatient mental health programs, assisted living settings, and community-based care.
For the past nine years, my practice has focused exclusively on older adults. I provide assessment and treatment for depression and anxiety, grief and bereavement, cognitive and medical changes, loss of independence, and the emotional adjustments that often accompany aging. These concerns often impact daily functioning, emotional well-being, and overall quality of life.
My approach is professional, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based treatment, with a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship. I provide individualized, person-centered care, working at each client’s pace and with deep respect for their experiences, preferences, and goals. My work is centered on supporting dignity, autonomy, and stability while improving overall functioning and quality of life.
As a Certified Case Manager, I also assist with care coordination, including collaboration with medical providers (with consent) to support continuity of care, and connection to appropriate supports and services.
I provide in-home psychotherapy to reduce barriers to care and increase accessibility, allowing clients to engage in treatment within a familiar and supportive environment. This approach also allows for a more comprehensive understanding of each client’s needs and daily functioning.
For adult children involved in care, I offer clear communication and thoughtful collaboration when appropriate and authorized. If you are navigating concerns about a parent or loved one, you do not have to manage it alone—guidance and support are available.
